The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) took part in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Media Summit 2026, held from April 21 to 24, 2026, in Sofia. The event, organized by the EBU, brought together more than 150 participants from 37 countries.
ASBU was represented by Ms. Haidi Elgallad, Director of Radio, as part of its ongoing efforts to stay aligned with major global developments in the media sector and to strengthen its presence in regional and international forums.
As part of the summit program, participants visited Sofia Tech Park, including the Discoverer Sofia Petascale Supercomputer, one of Europe’s leading advanced computing centers. This visit highlighted the significant potential of high-performance computing in driving innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence, and its growing role in enhancing media content creation, production, and distribution.
