Preparations Begin for the 21st  Edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival

 Despite the paralysis caused by Coronavirus to the cultural and artistic activities, the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) has already started preparations for the 21st  edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival and accompayning events, to be held from October 20th to October 25th, 2021 in the City of Culture in Tunis, in cooperation with the Tunisian Radio Corporation and the Tunisian Television Corporation, and in partnership with the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat).

It is worth noting that the distinguishing event of this year’s session is the organization of the first edition of the Arab Media Congress, which will precede the Festival on 20th and 21th October 2021. In fact, this congress deals with audiovisual media and discusses the important issues and challenges facing the fields of radio, television, new media and the various components and sectors of media in the Arab region. 
It is no secret that the Festival has gained fame and popularity over its recent sessions, as reflected by the significant increasing number of participants and visitors, and the intensive positive media coverage that continues to receive local, regional and international recognition.
The festival's objectives are to contribute to the development of Arab radio and TV production and to upgrade its content to meet the expectations of members corporations. It also aims at encouraging Arab creative energies in the field of radio and TV.
The festival mainly includes the following events:
The opening and closing ceremonies,
Several contests for radio and TV various types of news and programming, both for member corporations and other Arab private corporations and production companies. 
Two thematic workshops, one on programming and one technical, 
 A radio and TV program exchange market, 
an exhibit for radio and TV equipments brought by the latest technological developments in the industry. 
Foreign radio and TV corporations broadcasting to the region and using the Arabic language are invited and welcome to participate in the Festival events.
