The exchange of Radio Programmes is implemented through the Audio Programmes exchange system via Satellite VSAT (inaugurated on 9/2/2000) for ASBU members connected with the system, and by distributing copies to ASBU members outside the system.
The exchange of Programmes via Satellite is executed according to mesures and critiria for reservation and coordination of Radio exchange via Satellite.

The Regular collective exchange :
A Monthly exchange of (Programmes in Store- Radiotheque): A set of selected programmes exchanged by ASBU members according to an agenda allowing two members to exchange their programmes every
month.
The «Arab Encounter» Programme: This program features a theme selected annually by the Radio Standing Committee and aimed at highlighting some cultural, social and artistic aspects of the Arab countries’ heritage. The topics covered over the last years are:

The « Know your Country » Program
This program, started in the year 2000, is meant to develop and encourage inter-Arab tourism. It features a theme selected annually by the Radio Standing Committee, and then produced and exchanged in serial form by member-organisations at the rate of one episode per member.

Religious Festivities Programs: These programs are exchanged on religious occasions by ASBU members.
The Saoudi Radio covers religions rites during the month of Ramadan, AL HAJ (Pilgrimage) and religions Aids (Fêtes) via (VSAT)
The regular Reports: These are News, cultural and Sports reports Transmitted by ASBU members via (VSAT).
The occasional multilateral exchange : This exchange includes : Evenings, Radio debates, Big Events, live Transmission of common events, festivals reports, religions activities and sports transmission.
The Bilateral exchange : This includes News, Cultural, Sports reports and other events.
In the framework of stepping up co-production activities, 12 (twelve) ASBU members got involved in the production of the first package (90 episodes) of the programme on teaching Arabic to arabophones, dubbed « Lughat Al Arab » ( the Arabs’ Language). Agreement has already been reached on the production of the second package (90 other episodes) and the concept of the third package, has been prepared. i.e. another 90 episodes, so that the programme will come full circle with 270 episodes in all, of fifteen minutes
each.
Seminars and Workshop : Every two years, ASBU organizes a seminar or a workshop on radio related matters. Some of the meetings already held are:

Festivals and Contests
The Arab Radio and TV Festival : Held in Tunis once every other year since 1981. It includes a series of broadcasts setting in competition all ASBU member-organizations and some Arab private producers in conformance with the internal regulations and rules of procedure applicable to each session of the festival.
The Radio song contest : This is an annual contest started in 2001. The theme of the contest was the song of " AL QASID " ( classical Poems )
The Arab Radio Guide
This is a manual including radio data bases on 195 (one hundred ninty five) radio-stations from 20 (twenty) Arab broadcasting institutions.
