The High Coordination Committee Between Arab Satellite Channels
In application of a resolution by the Arab Information Ministers’ Council, ASBU has been in charge, since 1995, of the Secretariat of this Committee whose membership includes the Arab public and private satellite channels broadcasting via their own channels or retransmitting through their network the programmes of other Arab channels. Are also members of this Committee representatives from the League of Arab States’ Information Department, ASBU General Directorate, the Arab Space Communications Organization and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO).
Acting as secretariat of the Committee, ASBU is in charge of coordination, data and documentation collection, preparations of the committee’s meetings and reports and submission of these reports to the Arab Information Standing Committee and the Arab Information
Ministers’ Council.
Annual Report on Arab Satellite Broadcasting
The above Coordination Committee prepares an annual report on the situation of satellite broadcasting within the Arab region and without. This report includes in particular:

High Committee for Arab Information Production

By a decision of the Arab Information Ministers Council, ASBU assumes, since 1999, the responsibility for running the Secretariat of the High Committee for Arab Information Production, whose membership is comprised of the following organizations and institutions:

The eleven (11) members of ASBU Executive Council acting as representatives of Arab information structures.

Five (5) representatives of private information production companies nominated (every other year) by the Union of Arab
Producers.

Five (5) representatives of Arab satellite channels nominated every other year by the High Coordination Committee between Satellite Broadcasting
Channels.
-
The League of Arab States’ General Department for Information
Affairs.

The Arab States Broadcasitng Union General
Directorate.
-
The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO)
-
Chairman of the Arab TV Producers' Union.

This High Committee for Arab Information operates within the framework and under the supervision and guidance of
ASBU.

ASBU is in charge of the Secretariat of this Committee and, as such, prepares its draft-agenda (in coordination with the Committee Chairman), collects its data and documents, prepares for its meetings and drafts the reports to be submitted to the High
Committee.

Maintaining ever closer coordination and cooperation ties with regional broadcasting unions through active participation in regional and international events, meetings and conferences, as well as through permanent membership in the World Broadcasting Union
(WBU).
