Tunis, October 2, 2009 -- The Asia Media Summit (AMS 2010) will meet May
25 – 26, 2010 in the Chinese Capital, Beijing. Organized by the Asia-Pacific
Media Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) and hosted by China’s State
Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), the Summit will include
nine working sessions, covering the following themes:
Public trust in media, what is missing? Is there a
crisis? Media ethics and media freedom, Content access for a
universal audience, Culture and creativity in
broadcasting, Promoting ‘On-air diversity’: A case for community
broadcasting, Workers and migrants in search of fortune: can media
help? Copyright for broadcasting: Are reforms
needed? Innovative journalism – Is it worth
adopting? Mapping media assistance: How far should they go?

Several pre and post-summit events are also expected to occur during
the same period, including the 4th ASBU-AIBD Media Partnership Committee meeting
(May 24) and other international media gatherings on “dialogue on cultures and
religions”, media quality management, climate change and gender guidelines for
broadcasting organizations.
