ASBU Standing Technical Committee holds its 56th session

 The Technical Standing Committee belonging to the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) is scheduled to hold its 56th annual session on November 5, 2020, via the ZOOM remote meeting application, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Delegations from several member corporations and a number of Arab and international experts are to take part in that meeting.

 
The session looks into the 2020 ASBU activities in the technical field, in addition to setting up its work plan in the field for 2021. It will also discuss reports submitted by the four specialized working groups set up by the Committee in the fields of space and exchanges, radio & TV production and operation, radio & TV transmission, and technical training.
 
The meeting agenda includes as well results of ASBU’s training activities, Arab and international cooperation, reviewing ASBU technical activities, as well as a number of technical presentations relating to important projects ASBU is working on for the upcoming years, including the MENOS+ and the ASBU Cloud platforms.
 
The session is immediately preceded by the “EBU Week of Technology” Nov. 2-4, 2020. The meeting agenda is available for donwload from the link below. 
 
It is to be noted that the standing committees represent key consultative structures helping ASBU achieve its work. They present their annual recommendations to the Executive Council and the General Assembly. It is worth mentioning that ASBU has seven standing committees covering Administrative and Financial affairs, New Media, technical affairs, TV programming, News, Radio, and Sports.
