ASBU Headquarters hosts seminar on Arab Sport Press

The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) headquarters in Tunis hosted on March 9, 2018 a seminar on the Arab Sport Press, organized by the Arab Sport Press Assocaition (ASPA), the Association of Tunisian Sport Journalists with the contribution of the Tunis Afrique Press (TAP) agency.

The event was held in presence of His Excellency Imed Jebri, Tunisia's Secretary of State for Sports, of ASPA President, Mohamed Jamil Abdelkader, and of several ASPA members and guests.

A ceremony was organized on the occasion in honour of Arab national teams who qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, namely, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Representatives and ambassadors of the above mentioned countries and media sport figures were invited to the ceremony.

On the agenda of the event, conferences and debates on the journalists’ role, the posed challenges and relations between press agencies and audiovisual and electronic press.

The media coverage and the press organization modalities of the forthcoming world cup (June 14-July 15 in Russia) were also discussed on this occasion, in addition to the Arab media’s role in promoting Arab football that participates for the first time in its history in a world cup with four teams.

Besides, the ASPA Executive Board will be holding its meeting in Tunis on the same day.
